Mets swept by Brewers to open season

The New York Met’s season is not off to a great start as they were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers with a 4-1 loss at Citi Field on Sunday afternoon.

Francisco Alvarez and Pete Alonso combined for four of the team’s seven hits, and Tyrone Taylor plated the lone run with an RBI single in the second inning.

Tylor Megill gave up two runs (one earned) over four innings. Yohan Ramírez, who received a suspension but is appealing, surrendered two runs across three frames.

The Mets will try to pick up their first win of the season on Monday when they begin a three-game series at home with the Detroit Tigers. The first pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m.
