Mets pitcher Yohan Ramírez, manager Carlos Mendoza suspended for intentionally throwing at Milwaukee’s Rhys Hoskins

Major League Baseball announced Sunday that New York Mets pitcher Yoahn Ramírez and manager Carlos Mendoza have been suspended for the incident involving Milwaukee Brewers designated hitter Rhys Hoskins on Friday.

Ramírez was handed a three-game suspension that he will appeal for intentionally throwing at Hoskins in the seventh inning. Additionally, Mendoza was given a one-game suspension that he will serve Sunday.

This all started after Hoskins slid hard into second base and angered second baseman Jeff McNeil, causing the benches to clear.

The Mets have dropped the first two games to the Brewers and will try to avoid the sweep with a win on Sunday.
