The Buffalo Sabres power play has been a problem all season, and it hurt them on Saturday night as they went 0-for-6 and were blanked, 3-0, by the Toronto Maples Leafs at KeyBank Center.

Buffalo (35-35-5) outshot Toronto 34-22, including 16-8 in the third period, but couldn’t get anything past Toronto’s (42-22-9) goaltender Ilya Samsonov.

JJ Peterka led the team in shots with six and hit the post in the first period. Dylan Cozens had a shorthanded breakaway in the third but was stopped by the left pad of Samsonov.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen turned aside 19-of-22 shots.

Box Score

The Sabres will continue their homestand on Tuesday when they host the Washington Capitals at 7 p.m.
