Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) students now have a streamlined pathway to continue their education at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS) thanks to a recent agreement between the two institutions. This collaboration, celebrated by HWS President Mark D. Gearan and FLCC President Robert K. Nye, aims to simplify the transfer process, providing clear guidance on course transfers and admissions requirements for FLCC students aiming for a bachelor’s degree at HWS.

The agreement outlines specific criteria, including grade point average and course grade minimums, ensuring FLCC students can transfer with full junior status to about 20 programs at HWS. This initiative is designed to keep local students within the Finger Lakes region, offering them more opportunities for higher education without the need to relocate.

This educational partnership represents a commitment to enhancing access and simplifying enrollment procedures for students, according to HWS Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid Mike Quinn. The agreement is set to foster closer ties between HWS and the Finger Lakes community, ensuring students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for future success.
