New family medicine expert joins Mary Clark Thompson Family Practice in Canandaigua

Dr. José Canario has recently become part of The Mary Clark Thompson Family Practice, a branch of the F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, adding a wealth of experience in family medicine. A resident of Geneva, Dr. Canario is recognized for his comprehensive expertise, holding board certification in Family Medicine. His educational journey took him from Eastern Virginia Medical School to a residency at UR Medicine’s Highland Hospital, capped by a master’s in medical management from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business.


Before joining The Mary Clark Thompson Family Practice, Dr. Canario dedicated his skills to Finger Lakes Community Health as chief medical officer, beginning in 2016 up to this March. His prior roles have deepened his experience in the field, including positions at a family practice in Penn Yan, and as medical director for the Keuka College Health Center and FLH Medical, PC’s urgent care centers.

The Mary Clark Thompson Family Practice, situated at the Sands Family YMCA in Canandaigua, welcomes both children and adults under Dr. Canario’s care.
