Syracuse women’s lacrosse edges Loyola for fifth straight win

The No. 5 Syracuse women’s lacrosse team picked up a fifth straight win on Wednesday evening, edging No. 7 Loyola 16-13 at the JMA Wireless Dome.

With the victory, the Orange improved to 8-3 on the season and 5-2 at home.

Emma Tyrrell and Emma Ward combined for 10 of Syracuse’s 16 goals, netting six and four, respectively. Savannah Sweitzer tallied three goals, while Payton Rowley, Natalie Smith, and Maddy Baxter added one each. Goalkeeper Delaney Sweitzer made four saves.

Syracuse will get a couple of days off before they host Louisville in ACC action on Saturday at noon.
