Gerry McNamara is officially leaving Syracuse.

McNamara, who played four years for the Orange and has been a full-time assistant coach since 2011, has agreed to a deal to become the next head coach at Siena.

McNamara helped coach teams to nine NCAA Tournament appearances, including Final Four runs in 2013 and 2016. As a player, he remains Syracuse’s all-time leader in three-pointers made with 400 and total minutes played at 4,799 and is a 2003 National Champion.

At the end of the 2022-23 season, he had his #3 jersey hung in the JMA Wireless Dome rafters.

Head coach Adrian Autry now has a spot to fill on his staff.
