Multiple departments were dispatched to a garage fire near the border of Cayuga and Onondaga counties during the evening hours on Monday.

According to our partners at the Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire, Jordan, Cato, Weedsport, Warners-Memphis, Elbridge Fire, Mottville RIT, Cimvac and Jordan Ambulance all responded to Jordan Road near Fire Lane 1 and 2 for a garage fire.

The call came in around 9 p.m.

The first crews on-scene confirmed heavy fire and smoke showing from the structure, which was described as a 20×20 garage.

The fire was brought under control by first responders a short time later, but the structure suffered major damage.

No additional information was immediately available.
