In Wayne County a woman was arrested following a police chase that started with a stolen car from a Walgreen’s parking lot in the town of Butler.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said 25-year-old Chyenne M. Gonyeau of Wolcott was caught driving the stolen vehicle and led officers on a high-speed pursuit through multiple towns. This wasn’t the Wolcott resident’s first pursuit in recent weeks either. She was taken into custody with her brother after a chase between Wayne and Monroe counties, also involving a stolen vehicle.

The most-recent chase began when deputies, responding to the stolen vehicle report, spotted Gonyeau driving west on Route 104 on Saturday. Despite efforts to stop her, Gonyeau continued, leading authorities through Huron, Sodus, and into Williamson. The pursuit ended after police used stop sticks to disable the car.

Gonyeau faces multiple charges, including grand larceny and fleeing from police, after being taken into custody without further incident.
