In the recent village elections across Cayuga County on Tuesday, several local positions were filled, with many candidates running unopposed. In Aurora, JD Balloni and Janet Murphy were elected as village trustees with 49 and 47 votes, respectively. Cayuga presented a unique scenario where all trustee candidates were write-ins, resulting in Shane Ellis and Rob Vivenzio winning the two available seats with 18 and 16 votes.

Fair Haven saw a competitive mayoral race, with challenger Brian DiBernardo unseating incumbent Mayor James Basile with a 155-140 vote tally. Additionally, Walter Krehling and Judith Dunaway secured trustee positions unopposed, each garnering 248 votes. In Port Byron, Joanne Bell was elected judge, while Mary Jump and Jeff Girven won the trustee spots.

Union Springs and Weedsport elections saw unopposed candidates securing their positions comfortably. Brian Cornell and Donna O’Hara retained their trustee roles in Union Springs, while Chad Platten, Geoffery Fritsch, John Clark, and Francis Gross Jr. were elected to their respective positions in Weedsport, all for four-year terms.
