Cobblestone Arts Center celebrates expansion with comedy and gratitude

Cobblestone Arts Center marked a significant milestone with a ribbon-cutting reception on March 22, celebrating the grand opening of its new 3,400-square-foot extension. The celebration began with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., followed by the “Laugh Out Loud” comedy event in the recently expanded theater, featuring headliners Dan Kulp and Dan Viola, and emcee Greg VanAlstine. This expansion enhances the Center’s ability to offer a wider array of visual and performing arts classes and host community events.

The expansion and event highlighted the Center’s appreciation for its donors and sponsors, including notable contributions from the Golisano Foundation, the United Way, and the Davenport-Hatch Foundation. Their support has been pivotal in broadening the scope of programs and facilities available, reinforcing the Center’s commitment to inclusivity and community engagement through the arts.

Proceeds from the comedy event, with tickets available to the public for $25, will directly support Cobblestone Arts Center’s mission of empowering individuals with disabilities through artistic expression. Lorene Benson, the executive director, expressed deep gratitude for the enduring patronage that has enabled the Center to thrive and serve as a beacon for art and inclusion within the community.
