Webster man arrested after Rochester city shooting

Rochester Police have successfully apprehended Vincent Catalano, a 45-year-old man from Webster, in connection to a shooting incident that occurred in November 2023 on Hudson Avenue. The victim, a 55-year-old clerk working at the Discount Market, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the early hours of November 11 but miraculously survived the ordeal.

The arrest was made last Thursday on Bremen Street in Rochester by the United States Marshal’s Task Force, marking a significant breakthrough in the case. Catalano now faces charges of second-degree assault and first-degree attempted robbery, as announced by the police on Monday.

Following his arraignment, Catalano is currently being held at the Monroe County Jail. This development brings some relief to the community, shaken by the violence that disrupted the tranquility of their neighborhood last fall.
