Police say an assault in downtown Ithaca resulted in a man being pushed through a window, causing significant injury. The incident, occurring around 11:15 p.m. on March 13 in the 100 block of East State Street, prompted an immediate response from local law enforcement and emergency services.

Upon their arrival, Ithaca Police Officers found the victim suffering from a laceration with uncontrolled bleeding. With the help of Bangs Ambulance and the Ithaca Fire Department, officers were able to provide the necessary aid to the victim, who was then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, the injuries sustained were not life-threatening.

The suspect, described as a white male in his 40s, dressed in a green hooded sweatshirt and jeans, had fled the scene by the time authorities arrived. Preliminary investigations suggest that the attacker was acquainted with the victim, indicating that this was not a random act of violence. This detail has somewhat alleviated broader public safety concerns.

As the Ithaca Police Department continues to delve into the case, they urge anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward.
