In the realm of the NFL, few names have surged with as much force and finesse as Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen. Since his debut, the former University of Wyoming standout has redefined the QB position for the Highmark outfit, finally filling the cleats of a certain Jim Kelly.

2023 Season

The 2023 season posed new challenges and opportunities for growth for both their franchise player and the team itself. Despite facing formidable defenses and navigating through injuries, Allen’s resilience shone brightly. After a tough start to the campaign in which his side lost six of their first 12 games despite being Lombardi frontrunners, the 27-year-old managed to regain his composure. His side won five straight games to finish the regular season, including road victories against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins, as well as a solid win against the NFC heavyweight Dallas Cowboys.

Those victories catapulted the Bills to the top of the Super Bowl betting charts. But it wasn’t just football betting that Allen had his eye on. He was also keeping close quarters on the latest online horse betting odds after he was spotted at the Kentucky Derby in a dashing three-piece suit. But unlike Mage, the eventual winner in Louisville, Allen and Co. couldn’t live up to the billing.

The Bills’ main man has been overshadowed by Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes in recent years and that even haunted him once again at the Derby as his nemesis was made the grand marshall. And he did the exact same in the NFL playoffs as the former Texas Tech star and his Arrowhead teammates eliminated the Bills for the third time in four years. And to make matters worse, they went on to lift the Lombardi with a dramatic overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Meteoric Rise

Allen’s journey from a promising draft pick to a franchise quarterback is nothing short of spectacular. His 2020 season set the tone for what was to become a transformative era for the Bills. During this pivotal year, he shattered team records, accumulating a mighty 4,544 passing yards and 37 touchdowns. But he has showcased that he is far more than a mere one-hit wonder.

In just his second campaign at Highmark, Allen notched up over 3,000 throwing yards, becoming the first Bills player to do so in seven years. And after his marquee campaign in 2020, the former Wyoming Cowboy continued in the same vein. In each of the last three seasons, he has thrown for well over 4,000 yards and notched a whopping 100 touchdowns. And that isn’t taking into account his 28 TDs on the ground, including a quarterback-high 15 last season, the most of Allen’s career.

While his stats are undoubtedly impressive, his impact transcends numbers. He has revitalized his team, instilling a sense of hope and anticipation among fans. His work ethic, coupled with his philanthropic efforts, has endeared him to the Bills Mafia.
