In Steuben County authorities have arrested 47-year-old Trampas J. Ridley for allegedly committing welfare fraud and other felonies.
According to Sheriff Jim Allard, between June 2021 and October 2022, Ridley is accused of submitting fake documents to the Steuben County Department of Social Services to unlawfully receive over $8,600 in services.
He faces multiple charges, including welfare fraud and falsifying business records. These allegations suggest Ridley deliberately deceived the social services department to benefit financially.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
