The Southern Cayuga Future Farmers of America (FFA) is set to launch their 2024 Growing Hope Globally project at an event scheduled for March 8, 2024, at the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES. This initiative aims to shed light on diverse career pathways in agriculture, local efforts to combat hunger, and support for indigenous farmers in Guatemala. Registration is now open for individuals and student groups interested in attending the event, which promises insightful discussions and a showcase of Cayuga County’s dairy industry advancements.
The Growing Hope event will highlight the Southern Cayuga FFA’s partnership with the King Ferry Food Pantry and their global commitment through Growing Hope Globally’s East Coast Team. Attendees will also learn about Cayuga Milk Ingredients’ expansion and hear from industry leaders about sustainable practices and career opportunities in agriculture. The program includes a panel discussion, a tour of the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES facilities, and a locally sourced lunch prepared by BOCES Culinary Program students.
Thanks to various sponsors, students can attend the event free of charge, while there is a nominal $10 fee for adult participants. The event is a collaborative effort to inspire action towards ending hunger and promoting agricultural education, with details available on the Growing Hope event page on Facebook.
