Yates County has lost a distinguished leader and community advocate. Dr. Timothy Cutler passed away on Tuesday at the age of 73, after a valiant fight against illness.

He was a lifelong public servant in Yates County. His contributions were deeply rooted in the towns of Italy, Middlesex, and Jerusalem, which he represented as a Legislator for District #1 since 2017.

Before entering public service, Dr. Cutler had a successful career with prominent companies such as Eastman Kodak, ITT Corp, and Exelis, Incorporated. In retirement, he continued to share his knowledge as an Adjunct Instructor at Keuka College. He also played significant roles in the community, including serving as the Chair of the Town of Jerusalem Planning Board, contributing to the Keuka Lake Association Board of Directors, and participating in the Penn Yan Lions Club.

The community will have the opportunity to honor Dr. Cutler’s legacy and express condolences to his family during calling hours on Saturday from 1 to 4 at the Bartolomeo and Perotto Funeral Home in Rochester. Dr. Cutler’s passing is a profound loss for Yates County, as he leaves behind a legacy of dedication to public service and community enrichment.
