Lansing FD responds to chimney fire with no injuries reported

The Lansing Fire Department swiftly responded to a midday house fire on Auburn Road in North Lansing, reported just before noon on Tuesday. The fire, originating from the chimney, prompted a collaborative effort with Locke Fire & Rescue and the Genoa Fire Department, while the King Ferry Fire Department was on standby. Despite the potential danger, there were no injuries reported, thanks to the quick action of the responders.

Upon arrival, first responders found smoke emanating from the wall and quickly located the fire within the chimney, experiencing minimal spread to the rest of the structure. The LFD, equipped with an engine, two tankers, an aerial unit, and their duty chief, worked diligently to contain and extinguish the fire. Bangs Ambulance was also present at the scene to ensure safety.

The Lansing Fire Department remained on site for two hours to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and to check for any further issues. The successful operation highlights the effectiveness of the local fire departments in managing emergency situations and ensuring public safety.
