Chairwoman Aileen McNabb-Coleman highlighted the need for a dedicated county manager to address various critical issues, including economic development and water quality. The appointment of Lynch is seen as a strategic step to alleviate the burden on the Legislature chair and provide the necessary support for tackling county challenges effectively. Lynch’s extensive experience in planning and development within the county and his tenure as director since 2006 position him as a trusted leader for this role.

Lynch expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and looks forward to working with county and city officials to advance key initiatives. His appointment is expected to bring a renewed focus on important projects and support for the county’s leadership, as Cayuga County continues to navigate the complexities of local governance and community development.
