Rochester man faces felony DWI charges in Wayne County

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Evan J. Tornatore, a 28-year-old resident of Rochester following a traffic stop on State Route 104 in the Town of Williamson. Deputies initiated the stop, leading to a field sobriety test which Tornatore failed, resulting in his arrest for DWI.

Tornatore, who has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years, faces multiple charges including felony DWI under common law, DWI with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .08 or greater as a felony, and additional offenses related to driving without an interlock device, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating an unlicensed and uninspected vehicle. Following the traffic stop, Tornatore was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where a chemical test revealed a BAC of .09.

Scheduled to appear in Williamson Town Court at a later date, Tornatore will face the charges as the legal process continues. This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address and deter impaired driving in the community.
