Three hospitalized, one in ICU after crash in front of Bristol Mountain

A three-vehicle collision near Bristol Mountain on State Route 64 in South Bristol resulted in multiple injuries and road closure. Samantha Romanick, a 35-year-old from Rochester, was exiting Bristol Mountain and collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Daniel Norris, 57, of Rushville. The impact caused Norris’s vehicle to hit a northbound bus carrying local school students, who fortunately remained unharmed.

Romanick, who suffered a possible broken pelvis and internal injuries, was transported to Strong Hospital and is currently stable in ICU. Norris, with minor injuries and a laceration, was also taken to Strong Hospital, along with his passenger Yan Sun, who sustained possible rib fractures and is reported stable.

Following the accident, Romanick received a citation for failing to yield the right of way. The incident led to a two-hour road closure on State Route 64, with emergency services including the Naples, Bristol, and Honeye Fire Departments, and multiple ambulances responding to the scene. Bristol Ski Patrol/EMS also provided assistance, and all parties involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
