The New York Mets brought back a key piece of their bullpen on Saturday, signing Adam Ottavino to a 1-year contract worth $4.5 million, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported

Ottavino, 39, tested the free agent market after declining a $6.775 million player option but decided to return to Queens for a third straight season.

The right-hander posted a 3.21 ERA across 61.2 innings in 2023 after pitching to a 2.06 ERA over 65.2 innings in 2022.
