United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes has launched its 106th annual campaign, titled “Imagine What’s Possible,” with Miguel Velázquez, CEO of Regional Transit Service (RTS), serving as the 2024 Campaign Chair. This announcement follows the successful conclusion of the 2023 campaign, which raised $18 million, contributing to a total impact of $33.7 million for the community.

The 2023 campaign, led by Jim Reed, CEO of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, supported over 180 community-based nonprofit organizations. Reflecting on the success, Reed emphasized the alignment of Excellus BCBS’s mission with United Way’s goals, highlighting their combined efforts to support healthier and more secure lives in the community.

The 2024 campaign envisions a future where collective efforts bridge the gap between aspirations and real impacts. Velázquez shared his enthusiasm for the partnership with United Way, focusing on the shared vision of thriving communities and improved quality of life in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region. The campaign aims to harness the region’s collective strength to address local needs and complex challenges.
