State police: Homeless man stole two commercial box trucks in Clyde

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation has arrested a 34-year-old man following an investigation into stolen commercial box trucks.

Anthony W. Carr, who has no permanent address, was arrested on multiple charges including grand larceny and criminal mischief. The arrest, made on January 22, comes after an investigation into the theft of two commercial box delivery trucks belonging to DNT Express, based in Clyde.

The investigation began following a complaint received on October 22, 2023, about the missing trucks. Carr was later located and apprehended in Rochester in connection with the thefts. He faces a series of charges: Second- and third-degree grand larceny, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree grand larceny, and two counts of petit larceny.

Following his arrest, Carr was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear in the town of Galen court at a later date.
