Bills’ Josh Allen named finalist for 2023 NFL MVP, Damar Hamlin named finalist for Comeback Player of the Year

The NFL announced Thursday that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is one of five MVP finalists, and safety Damar Hamlin is one of five Comeback Player of the Year finalists.

Allen led the NFL in total touchdowns (44) and yards (4,830), leading the Bills to an 11-6 record and a fourth-straight AFC East crown. This is the third time Allen has been a finalist for this award over his six-year career.

Other finalists for the award: QB Lamar Jackson, QB Dak Prescott, QB Brock Purdy, and RB Christian McCaffrey.

Hamlin made an incredible comeback to the NFL after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field when Buffalo played Cincinnati on January 2, 2023. If he wins the award, he would join Doug Flutie (1998) as the only Bills to earn the honor.

Other finalists for the award: QB Joe Flacco, QB Matthew Stafford, QB Baker Mayfield, and QB Tua Tagovailoa.

The winners of each award will be revealed at the NFL Honors in Las Vegas on February 8.
