Seneca Falls man faces felony burglary, other charges after investigation

The Seneca Falls Police Department arrested a local man on charges related to two separate incidents after a traffic stop. Asa T. Poormon, 28, of Seneca Falls was arrested on January 23 for failing to appear in court on January 10 for initial charges of petit larceny.

Further complicating his legal troubles, Poormon was implicated in a separate incident involving forced entry into a residence, theft of property, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was subsequently charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and additional misdemeanors including fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, and petit larceny.

Poormon is currently detained at the Seneca County Correctional Facility, awaiting arraignment. The arrest was a collaborative effort, involving the New York State Troopers and the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Seneca Falls Police Department.
