Sabres bounce back, blank Sharks in home matinee

The Buffalo Sabres (19-21-4) bounced back from Saturday’s 1-0 loss to the Vancouver Canucks with a 3-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks (10-31-3) at KeyBank Center on Monday afternoon.

The game was scoreless after 20 minutes, but Buffalo netted two goals in the second and sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the third.

Casey Mittelstadt (12), Alex Tuch (12), and Jordan Greenway (4) were the goal scorers for the Sabres. Mittelstadt also tallied two assists, finishing with a three-point game.

Buffalo went 1-for-2 on the man advantage and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will continue their six-game homestand Wednesday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m.
