The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office held a Promotional and Pinning Ceremony on January 10 to recognize the advancement of six of its members. These promotions come in response to recent retirements and internal reassignments within the department.
Sheriff Thompson and Undersheriff Marquart announced the promotions, highlighting the new roles and responsibilities for each officer.
- Richard Reed has been promoted to Chief Deputy, taking charge of overall operations as the third in command.
- Michael Strohm is now the Investigator Lieutenant and Commanding Officer of the Criminal Investigation Division, focusing on major crimes and narcotics enforcement.
- Jeffrey Steuer has been promoted to Road Patrol Lieutenant, overseeing the Road Patrol Division.
Additionally, Jason Ward and James Palmer have been promoted to Investigators, handling felony-level criminal cases. Brian Sahler’s promotion to Sergeant places him in a key leadership role for uniformed Deputy Sheriffs.
