Two arrested after violent robbery and assault in Wayne County

In Sodus the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrests of James Bartron, 25, and Aleixieandra Hinkle, 29, following a violent incident on December 12. The disturbance occurred on Van Lare Road in the town of Sodus and involved an altercation over drugs at a friend’s house.


According to the authorities, Bartron and Hinkle attacked the victim with a large steel chain link, choked him until he was unconscious, and then restrained him with Christmas lights. They also robbed the victim of his car keys, wallet, and money. The victim managed to escape through a bathroom window and sought help from a neighbor.

Bartron faces charges including robbery, assault, strangulation, criminal possession of a weapon, and unlawful imprisonment. Hinkle has been charged with assault and menacing. Both suspects were taken to the Wayne County Jail to await court proceedings.
