Cornell University, Ithaca Mayor condemns hateful social media post

Cornell University President Martha E. Pollack and Ithaca Mayor Robert Gesualdo Cantelmo have strongly condemned a social media post advocating violence against Zionists.

The post, purportedly made by a Cornell student, has prompted an investigation by Cornell Police and the Office of Student Conduct.

President Pollack, in her statement, emphasized the university’s commitment to holding any responsible community member accountable. She described the post as “heinous” and strongly denounced it. Mayor Cantelmo echoed these sentiments, stating that anti-Semitism and Islamophobia have no place in society and condemning any form of hateful language against Jewish and Muslim communities.
