Oswego County man receives 135-month sentence for child porn possession

Marcus Lombardo, a 40-year-old resident of Hannibal, New York, has been sentenced to 135 months in federal prison for possessing child pornography. This sentencing was announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and FBI Special Agent in Charge Craig L. Tremaroli.

Lombardo, who had previously pled guilty, was found to possess over 180 image and video files of child pornography during a home visit by his United States Probation Officer on February 18, 2021. The illegal content was discovered on an SD card in a cell phone, which Lombardo was prohibited from having due to the conditions of his supervised release.

Previously convicted in 2012 for similar offenses, Lombardo was under federal supervision at the time of his latest offense. United States District Judge David N. Hurd also imposed a 15-year term of supervised release post-imprisonment, a $100 special assessment, and ordered Lombardo to pay $12,000 in restitution to the victims depicted in the material. Lombardo must continue registering as a sex offender. This case, part of Project Safe Childhood, was investigated by the FBI Mid-State Child Exploitation Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Sutcliffe. Project Safe Childhood aims to combat child exploitation and abuse.
