In response to the recent windstorm, the City of Auburn has announced a special cleanup schedule to help residents deal with the large amounts of tree debris and brush. The city will conduct a special brush and tree limb collection on Saturday, January 13, 2024, starting at 7 a.m., with hopes to cover the entire city in a day.
Residents are advised to place all debris by the curb, but not in the street, by 7:00 am on January 13. The debris should not block sidewalks and should be stacked neatly, with branches facing the same direction and not exceeding 8 feet in length. It’s important to avoid stacking debris near obstacles like telephone poles and fire hydrants, and to not park vehicles in front of debris piles.
Additionally, the city will maintain its regular yard waste collection on Monday, January 15, despite it being listed as a no-collection day. Smaller debris should be containerized for this collection. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions, with snow potentially delaying the cleanup.
Residents with questions or concerns can contact the Department of Public Works at 315.255.4155.
