The Naples Library is set to celebrate its significant expansion and accessibility improvements with a special ribbon-cutting event on January 27. The community is invited to explore the newly enhanced library, featuring a range of upgrades and new facilities. Friends of Naples Library will provide refreshments during the open house, which includes tours of the new spaces.
This $1.3 million project, supported by State Aid for Library Construction, marks the completion of the Naples Library Accessibility and Expansion Project started in September 2022. Major enhancements include a 1,053-square-foot addition, a new elevator for increased accessibility, ADA parking, and improved community spaces. These upgrades aim to make the library more inclusive, especially for patrons with disabilities and seniors.
The renovation also introduces a dedicated teen room, updated meeting rooms, and a climate-controlled area for preserving historic documents. The library, part of the OWWL Library System, has already seen a rise in community engagement due to these improvements. The project reflects the library’s commitment to “inform, inspire, educate, and entertain” in a welcoming and resource-rich environment.
