Gwen Webber-McLeod, an accomplished entrepreneur, has been appointed as the new chair of the Auburn Industrial Development Authority (AIDA) board of directors, succeeding Jim Dacey, who led the board since 2008.

Auburn Mayor Jimmy Giannettino recommended her for the role, and the city council confirmed her appointment during its regular meeting on Thursday. Webber-McLeod’s term is set to expire on January 31, 2026.

Currently the president and CEO of Gwen, Inc., a leadership education and professional coaching firm, Webber-McLeod brings a wealth of experience to the position. She is actively involved in various boards, including the Cayuga Economic Development Agency and CenterState CEO.

In her address to the city council, Webber-McLeod shared her vision for AIDA, emphasizing the importance of setting comprehensive economic development goals. Webber-McLeod’s appointment comes at a crucial time as Dacey’s term expired at the end of 2023.
