Young athletes in Canandaigua are soon to enjoy a new indoor sports facility, a project led by local resident Evan Gilbert. The facility, planned for a 5-acre land at 2625 County Road 22, aims to provide a nearby option for sports enthusiasts.

Evan Gilbert, under his company 2625 Hanna Road LLC, has gained approvals to construct two large buildings, each offering 14,300 square feet of space with synthetic turfs. These buildings are set to be on the east side of County Road 22.

This project, first proposed in March 2023, is designed to benefit local and regional school and club sports teams. It offers a place for sports like lacrosse, soccer, and baseball to be played indoors, which is perfect for bad weather days or off-season training.

The new facility is a significant boost for Canandaigua’s young athletes, providing them with state-of-the-art amenities right in their town. This development not only supports local sports but also aligns with the town’s vision for growth and community engagement.
