Union Chill Cannabis, a new cannabis dispensary, is nearing its opening in Corning at the former Leader building on West Pulteney Street. Owner Josh Canfield, who also runs the CBD shop Next Level Wellness in Hornell, announced that the Corning Planning Commission has given final approval for the project.

Canfield’s immediate focus is on finalizing construction plans and gaining approval from city Code Enforcement Supervisor Steve McDaniel. The dispensary aims to begin building its delivery section at the rear of the 34 W. Pulteney St. location by early spring. This delivery service will cater to Corning and surrounding areas, with a convenient setup at the back of the building, surrounded by parking lots.

The process involves state approval and inspections, with Canfield optimistic about receiving delivery approval within six to eight weeks. The retail section of Union Chill is expected to open in late spring or early summer, offering online purchase and delivery services. In-store purchases will be available once the retail section is fully operational.

Union Chill Cannabis represents a significant development in Corning’s business landscape, aligning with New York’s evolving cannabis regulations. Canfield expressed excitement about working with the city and looks forward to the dispensary’s opening. For more information on cannabis regulations, the public can visit cannabis.ny.gov.
