Geographically, the central part of the county, particularly the Auburn/Cayuga area, was the most affected, with 80.9% of overdoses occurring in this region.

The decline in suspected overdoses in 2023 is a positive development for Cayuga County, indicating progress in tackling the issue of drug overdoses. This change could be attributed to various factors, including increased awareness, better access to treatment, and effective prevention strategies. The county continues to monitor and address this critical public health concern.
