In the early hours of Monday, Horseheads Police Department responded to a major disturbance involving more than 80 people on South Main Street, Horseheads.
The incident, which occurred at 3312 South Main Street, began at a party in a rented space and escalated into a large-scale melee.
Law enforcement agencies from across Chemung County, as well as additional units from neighboring counties, were called to the scene to manage the chaotic situation.
Fortunately, authorities confirmed that there were no gunshots fired and no injuries reported during the incident.
Several arrests have been made, with charges pending as the investigation continues.
The cause of the altercation remains under investigation, as officials work to understand the factors leading to this significant outbreak of violence.
