Williamson man finally jailed after repeatedly violating court order

A 57-year-old Williamson resident was jailed after persistently violating a Court Order of Protection.

State Troopers from Williamson responded to an incident at the Brockhausen boarding house on Ridge Road, where Roger M. Cooney, 57, repeatedly visited the room of a former girlfriend, defying the court’s directive.

His first offense, which occurred on Monday, December 18, resulted in charges of felony criminal contempt and harassment.

Cooney’s continued disregard for the court order led to further legal troubles. After being released from CAP Court on Tuesday, December 26, he was arrested again the next day for two additional violations of the court orders.

These repeated offenses ultimately led to his remand to the Wayne County Jail, facing additional charges of criminal contempt.

Cooney is scheduled to appear in Williamson Town Court in January to respond to all charges.
