The Buffalo Sabres, once again, could not string together back-to-back wins as they fell 5-1 to the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night to close out 2023.

Tage Thompson scored the lone goal for the Sabres (15-19-4) in the first period, which was his 10th of the season. Devon Levi stopped 26-of-30 shots.

Buffalo outshot Ottawa 46-31 but went 0-for-3 on the power play and 0-for-1 on the penalty kill.

Box Score

The Sabres will return to action Thursday when they visit the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m.
