A two-vehicle collision in Tompkins County escalated into a search for a vehicle on December 22, culminating in the arrest of a Dryden woman for drunk driving and leaving the scene.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to East Shore Drive and Autumn Ridge in the town of Lansing, following reports of a hit-and-run accident.
Initial investigations revealed that one of the involved cars had fled the crash site.
Holly G. Conklin, 58, of Dryden, was later apprehended by deputies as the driver of the absconding vehicle.
Subsequent inquiries led to the discovery of Conklin’s intoxication at the time of the incident. She faces charges of DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to yield the right of way.
Conklin was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on January 18.
