Arc Ontario raises $15K at Turkey Trot

The Arc Ontario celebrated its 14th annual Turkey Trot fundraiser on Thanksgiving morning at F.A. Baker Memorial Park, marking a significant achievement for the agency. With the participation of over 400 community members, the event successfully raised more than $15,000 for the Friends of The Arc Ontario Foundation. This record-breaking amount signifies the highest fundraising success since the event’s inception, demonstrating strong community support.

The funds raised from the Turkey Trot will bolster The Arc Ontario’s diverse range of innovative programs and services tailored for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other challenges. Michele Wistner, Director of Development at The Arc Ontario, expressed gratitude for the exceptional turnout and the community’s willingness to support the agency’s mission in chilly weather conditions. The event exemplified the community’s commitment to inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities.

The Arc Ontario, a chapter of The Arc New York, was founded in 1954 and continues to be a pivotal non-profit organization in Ontario County. It offers comprehensive services, including day programs, transportation, residential services, career programs, and clinical services. The agency upholds values of integrity, teamwork, quality, commitment, and innovation, focusing on nurturing individuality and promoting active citizenship.
