The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Ovid man following an incident on Friday, December 15 around 11 p.m.
According to a news release, the 911 center received a call for a report of a dispute at a residence in the town of Ovid. Dispatchers advised responding deputies that the caller had an open cell phone line in a motor vehicle to update location.
Deputies then located the vehicle in question and performed a traffic stop to ensure safety of the caller, who was apparently not the driver.
As result of the incident, Kurt Minges, 57, was arrested for DWI and driving with a BAC over 0.08%.
Those charges will be answered at a later date. There were no charges related to the victim who called 911 reported by deputies.
