Officials in Auburn are asking residents who live in the area of the Owasco River to use caution around it for the next few days as heavy rains prompted unusually high-flow.
Flows within the river will remain over 1,000 cubic feet per second after heavy rain on Monday.
The public is asked to use extreme caution near the river within the City and outside of Auburn, too.
The city’s Department of Municipal Utilities will continue to monitor the flow of the river and downstream flooding impacts. The river’s flow will be reduced once upstream flows and the lake’s elevation normalize.
