Wayne Central students joins global effort to set sport stacking world record

Students from Wayne Central School District Elementary and Primary Schools have joined forces with peers worldwide to set a new world record in sport stacking.

The event, organized between November 14 and 16, 2023, saw a staggering 746,698 students from 2,242 schools globally participate, culminating in a record for the “Most People Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations.”

This achievement was officially recognized by the World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA), marking a notable accomplishment in the realm of sports and student engagement.

Sport stacking, an exhilarating activity involving rapid stacking and unstacking of 12 specialized cups known as speed stacks, has gained popularity among young athletes. It is not just a test of speed but also enhances hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, concentration, and overall fitness.

The Wayne Central School District’s involvement in this global record is an example of their commitment to promoting active and healthy lifestyles among students. This year marks the district’s second consecutive contribution to setting a world record in sport stacking.
