Woman accused of forging, cashing $10,000+ in checks at Tompkins banks

State police are asking for the public’s help as an investigation into ‘multiple forgeries’ continues forward.

Troopers said in a statement that the incidents occurred on November 30 at bank branches in Cortland and Tompkins counties.

They didn’t identify the bank, but shared photos of the suspect, who is accused of depositing a check pretending to be a customer. Immediately after depositing the check, the suspect then withdrew the money.

The two transactions were worth more than $10,000.

State police ask anyone with information to contact them at (607) 347-4463.
