A serious crash in the town of Ontario led to the arrest of a Rochester man on multiple charges, including driving under the influence and possession of a stolen vehicle.
State Police from Williamson responded to the incident on Route 104 and Cortland Drive on Tuesday at 4:14 p.m. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Michael P. Romell was discovered operating a vehicle reported stolen from the City of Rochester.
Adding to the complexity of the case, Romell was found to be driving without a license, which had been previously revoked due to multiple alcohol violations.
Romell was taken to the hospital after admitting to being intoxicated. A blood test was conducted to ascertain the level and type of drug intoxication.
Following the medical evaluation, Romell was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property, felony unlicensed operation, and DWAI drugs.
Upon release from the hospital, Romell was transported to the Wayne County Jail and held as a Predicate Felon.
