Corning Museum of Glass showcases spectacular holiday displays

The Corning Museum of Glass (CMOG) has transitioned into the Christmas spirit, showcasing an impressive collection of glass sculptures and ornaments for the winter season.

The museum, renowned for its extensive glass exhibits, has transformed into a festive wonderland, offering visitors a unique holiday experience centered around the artistry of glass.

A highlight of the museum’s holiday display is the spectacular holiday ornament tree. This tradition began in 2008 with an 8-foot tree adorned with 600 glass ornaments. Over the years, it has grown significantly in both size and splendor. The current tree stands at 14 feet tall and is beautifully decorated with 2,000 glass ornaments, exemplifying the museum’s commitment to celebrating the art of glass in all its forms.

Furthermore, the CMOG is hosting a Holiday Open House this weekend, marking a special occasion for the community and visitors. During this event, admission to the museum’s galleries and glass-making demonstrations will be free of charge, providing a perfect opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in the world of glass art.

The museum’s open house is an invitation to explore the fascinating exhibits and witness the intricate process of glass-making, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a unique holiday experience.
