In a tumultuous incident on Monday, Felicia L. Bedford, a 34-year-old woman from Canandaigua, was arrested following a supervised visit with her child at the county complex.
The arrest came after Bedford’s behavior was deemed inappropriate and endangering to the welfare of her child.
When deputies attempted to arrest her, Bedford responded violently. She head-butted an officer in the face and attempted to kick deputies, resisting the arrest process. Despite her actions, she was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
The injured officer received treatment for his injuries at FF Thompson Hospital and was released.
Bedford now faces several charges, including felony counts of second-degree attempted assault and aggravated family offense, as well as misdemeanor charges of child endangerment, contempt, and resisting arrest.
She has been held at the Ontario County Jail, with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. Bedford is scheduled to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date to answer these charges.
