Rochester man accused of trespassing at Walmart in Canandaigua gives deputies false ID in attempt to avoid arrest

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Rochester man following a larceny investigation at the Canandaigua Walmart.

The suspect, identified as Christopher Tunney, 48, of Rochester, is accused of trespassing after being banned from the store; and giving law enforcement a false name and date of birth.

He was eventually identified, but then charged with false personation in addition to the trespass charge. Deputies say Tunney also had an active warrant for his arrest after failing to appear in court on other charges.

He was transported to the Ontario County Jail and will appear in local court at a later date.
